GOAL!

so i went into saturday expecting landon to just run around on the field and just cheer his fellow teammates on in his first soccer game ever. he had mentioned wanting to be a cheerleader when he grows up (much to his opa’s dismay)so i figured as long as he was happy and having fun that was what mattered. I have to add that he later explained why cheering was a goal…he would get to lift girls up!

flashback about 30 years when my best-friend ashley and i were about five and played soccer together. we just ran around the field talking to each other and singing songs and would kick the ball if it got in our way. this sometimes resulted in someone who will remain unnamed would scorea goal for the opposing team. when ashley got the opportunity to see landon at one of his soccer practices and heard me ragging on him was quick to remind me of his genetic makeup!

landon woke up with an ear infection on friday night and got maybe 4 hours of sleep but woke up saturday ready to go and in a great mood. he started the game sitting on the sidelines and cheering his teammates on. coach called him in and he played goalie which was a lot of pressure(for me) because the score was 0-0. well it didn’t stay that way because once landon got on offense he scored a goal!

…to be or not to be…a soccer mom

a picture is worth a thousand words

here is to failed expectations!

  1. great new look! i was taken aback when i click on my link in favorites, i thought “who on earth is screwing around with me!” go landon! you’ve got it awesome mom! whatever he wants to do as long as he’s enjoying it. i just went to my nephews soccer game this weekend. they lost A LOT to ZERO. didn’t help that his team was made up of scrawny 7 & 8 year olds and the opposing team was giant 10 year olds! i thought they should’ve got to play a few extra players to make up for it! but they kids all enjoyed it losing or not and i think that has a lot to say for itself.
to be or not to be a soccer mom….you are too much!

  2. funny you mention the scrawny part as when he got on the field landon commented, in his not so soft voice, “wow look how little those guys are…hah”

  3. too funny. i like the cheerleader part. omar and i are convinced elisha will be the kid that picks flowers in the outfield. he takes his time with everything and can spot a flower quicker than anyone.

  4. and i agree with fara, i’m digging the new look.
